Keep Covington Beautiful is now seeking volunteers!
The Community Appearance Audit is a simple tool that allows a quick visual assessment of the amount of litter present in our community. The data obtained through the audit will determine the types of community improvement programs needed to address current conditions and achieve long-term sustainable results.
Starting in April, 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month: Goebel Butterfly Garden Maintenance Come to the garden to volunteer or just enjoy the weather. Entomologist and naturalist, Bill Theony, will be there to answer any of your questions while you help pull weeds and discover native plants.
July 27th: Kenny Shields Park Cleanup Receive a volunteer shirt for coming out! Bags, grabbers, gloves, coffee, snacks, and water provided. Meet in the Kenny Shields parking lot at 9th and Philadelphia to sign waivers. Head back to Gypsy’s after to enjoy $1 Labatt all day long!
October 4th, 8th-10th: Living Lands & Waters River Cleanup Headquartered in East Moline, Illinois, Living Lands & Waters is a 501 (c)(3) environmental organization that was established by Chad Pregracke in 1998. Since the organization was founded, Living Lands & Waters has grown to be the only “industrial strength” river cleanup organization like it in the world.
Spending up to 9 months a year living and traveling on the barge, the Living Lands & Waters' crew hosts river cleanups, watershed conservation initiatives, workshops, tree plantings and other key conservation efforts.
November 3rd: Household Waste Collection Event The Northern Kentucky Solid Waste Management Area and the Northern Kentucky Household Hazardous Waste Action Coalition are joining forces to help residents properly dispose of unwanted items. Volunteers are needed to work the event.

All of our programs, events, and activities are staffed by a group of people who just love Covington and want to see it become a more beautiful place for all who live and visit here. Whether you're passionate about the environment, recycling, youth, gardening, or anything else related to a cleaner and greener Covington, we would love to have you be a part of our team! You can volunteer for just one event or make a larger commitment to be on a committee or even a part of our Board of Directors.
