EVENT OPPORTUNITIES:

The Community Appearance Audit is a simple tool that allows a quick visual assessment of the amount of litter present in our community.  The data obtained through the audit will determine the types of community improvement programs needed to address current conditions and achieve long-term sustainable results.

April 28, 2018: Great American Cleanup Covington's largest annual volunteer day of service.

Starting in April, 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month: Goebel Butterfly Garden maintenance and planting.

June 23, 2018: Covington's 3 annual E-waste Collection/Confidential Document Shredding Event held at Holmes High School in the parking lot off of Eastern Avenue.

June 16, 2018: River Sweep is an event organized by the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission with multiple sites in Covington. Check back soon for confirmed locations. 

Check back for cleanup dates: Living Lands & Waters River Cleanup Headquartered in East Moline, Illinois, Living Lands & Waters is a 501 (c)(3) environmental organization that was established by Chad Pregracke in 1998. Since the organization was founded, Living Lands & Waters has grown to be the only “industrial strength” river cleanup organization like it in the world.

Spending up to 9 months a year living and traveling on the barge, the Living Lands & Waters' crew hosts river cleanups, watershed conservation initiatives, workshops, tree plantings and other key conservation efforts.

Check back for more information: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event. The Northern Kentucky Solid Waste Management Area and the Northern Kentucky Household Hazardous Waste Action Coalition are joining forces to help residents properly dispose of unwanted items. Volunteers are needed to work the event.

All of our programs, events, and activities are staffed by a group of people who just love Covington and want to see it become a more beautiful place for all who live and visit here. Whether you're passionate about the environment, recycling, youth, gardening, or anything else related to a cleaner and greener Covington, we would love to have you be a part of our team! You can volunteer for just one event or make a larger commitment to be on a committee or even a part of our Board of Directors. No matter what your passionate about or how much time you have to give, Keep Covington Beautiful has a place for you!
